Tuesdays in Traralgon: Gippsland Gothic and Writing for the Screen
A discussion on Gippsland Gothic: Dark stories and bizarre mythologies from the Valley followed by a session on writing for the screen.

Session One: 6- 7.00pm Gippsland Gothic: Dark stories and bizarre mythologies from the Valley
The Latrobe Valley is immersed in an intriguing folklore of hot headed crime, systemic welfare, mine fire smoke and brown coal. A panel of local journalists, artists and writers share and discuss the mythology of the Valley as a source of great material for local writers.
Session Two: 7.30- 8.30pm Writing for the Screen
In a world where many successful films and TV shows are based on books, a panel of practicing screen writers discuss how to appropriate an idea for the screen and what sort of ideas have feasibility in the market place.

Tuesdays in Traralgon: Publishing and Self-Publishing and Writer's Hot Seat
Learn about the process of traditional publishing versus self publishing followed by a local writers hot seat!
Session One: 6- 7.00pm Publishing and Self Publishing
A panel of local writers discuss the pros and cons of traditional publishing versus self publishing.
Session Two: 7.30- 8.30pm Writer's Hot Seat
Local writers take their turn on the 15 minute hot seat to share their backgrounds, interests, practical experiences and tips as regional writers and read a piece of their work (No longer than 500 words) .
